So Their Sacrifice is Never Forgotten
Orlando businessman Sanjay Sam Srinivasan is the CEO of Global Enterprises and the President of Global Eyewear. The son of entrepreneurial parents, Srinivasan started and sold his first business before he was 30 years old and he hasn’t slowed down yet. Raised in Central Florida, Srinivasan was inspired to launch his entrepreneurial career while working inside the area’s popular theme parks. The University of Central Florida graduate saw the volume of souvenirs that were being sold in kiosks and merchandise stores where he worked, and decided to capitalize on the market opportunity.
He started Jay Jewelry in 1995 as he completed his undergraduate degree. The business catered to the resort and tourism industry and sold surf-themed shell jewelry items. Srinivasan used his contacts from his days working in the theme parks to build up the business, and in two short years, expanded operations through opening his own mall kiosk locations and vertical integration. After ten years at the helm, Srinivasan sold the company in 2005 to publicly listed American Builtrite.
Never one to remain idle, Srinivasan moved full steam ahead into his next venture. He received his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and founded Global Gifts and Global Eye Wear in 2007. Both companies stuck to Srinivasan’s original vision of catering to the local tourism market through souvenir gifts and sunglasses.
The aggressive entrepreneur turned the companies into a $10 million a year enterprise in just four short years in spite of an economy that was in the throes of a recession by offering unbeatable production times and high-quality products.
Srinivasan recently merged Global Eyewear with Solaray and is also growing his promotional products company, Global Promo. Promotional Products make up a nearly $17 billion industry and are used by nearly every business in the United States because of their proven Return on Investment (ROI). Global Promo sources its promotional products from more than 3,000 suppliers and then prints them at their massive Orlando warehouse. Global Promo offers unbeatable production cycle times and custom design services through its staff of in-house artists.
In addition to his business ventures, Srinivasan is committed to giving back to the community through charities like Runway to Hope. Srinivasan is a founding member and former President of the Indian American Chamber of Commerce and also served on the Business Advisory Council of Central Florida.
